The Cup Runneth Over!
Great teams know how to win! Boasting future hall of famers and all stars over the years such as Ace Bailey, Syl Apps, Frank McCool, Babe Pratt, Frank Mahovlich, Red Kelly, Johnny Bower, Punch Imlach, Jim Pappin, Andy Bathgate, and Bob Pulford, raising championship banners became an almost annual event for Toronto.
The Maple Leafs won six championships in a span of nine years in the 1940s, and then again in the 60s, they won four cups in a span of six years, including three in a row.
In 1967, the Leafs would meet their hated rivals the Montreal Canadiens, who were heavily favored to win the cup. Montreal was led by high flying forwards Jean Beliveau and Henri Richard, with Gump Worsley in goal. With the series tied one game apiece, Toronto's Bob Pulford would score in double overtime in game three, and the Maple Leafs would eventually go on to win the series in six. However, this would prove to be the last Stanley Cup that Toronto has won to date.
The Leafs are Turning

Kessel's best attribute is finding open ice, as he needs very little time and space to pull the trigger, Kessel is a true sniper who is on pace for a 30 goal season.
Clarke MacArthur and Nikolai Kulemin continue to have solid seasons and add a great second line punch. Currently with a 1.90 GAA, 22 year old goalie James Reimer is making the most of his opportunity to compete with solid veteran J.S. Giguere.
