Texas Rangers Tickets: Moving South
The Rangers began playing in Arlington, Texas in 1972, having moved from Washington DC, where they played for 10 years as the Senators. In their third season, the Texas Rangers managed to put together 84 wins, which was good enough for second place American League West. They are still the only team in MLB history to finish with a record above .500 after having back to back 100 loss seasons.
In that third season, the Rangers boasted the Rookie of the Year in Mike Hargrove, the Manager of the Year in Billy Martin, and Jeff Burroughs was named the American League MVP. They also had pitcher Ferguson Jenkins, who won 25 games for the Rangers and was named Comeback Player of the Year.

Winning Ways
In the late 90s, the Rangers began to win. Their roster at the time included such greats as Will Clark, Juan Gonzales, Ivan Rodriguez, Kevin Elster, and Fernando Tatis. In 1986, the Rangers would win 90 games and clinch first place in the AL West. Although they would miss the playoffs the following year, in 1998 and 1999 they again would clinch first place in the AL West.
The Texas Rangers would take this winning experience, and in 2010 led by star Josh Hamilton, the Rangers would win the AL West again. This time they would beat the Rays in the first round to advance to the ALCS against the dreaded Yankees. After losing the first game, the Rangers would win three in a row and finally knock out the Yankees in 6 games to capture their first ever American League Pennant!
Repeat Performance
This season, the Rangers would like nothing more than to duplicate what they did last season. They are led by Josh Hamilton, who has worked hard to become a solid star in the league, and he should have no trouble picking up where he left off. Supporting the offense is newly acquired third baseman Adrian Beltre, who is coming off a 28 HR season. Veterans Ian Kinsler and Michael Young should also provide some pop this season.
