The History of O.A.R. Tickets
O.A.R. was founded in 1996 by Roberge and Culos, who were both attending Alexander Muss High School in Israel. It is there they recruited their other band members, and all four members graduated together from Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School in Maryland. All four members then moved to Ohio to attend Ohio State University, where they met DePizzo.
Their first songs, like "That was a Crazy Game of Poker" and "City on Down" from their album, The Wanderer, became instant hits among the college crowd simply as a result of word of mouth. This low-budget album took merely four days to record - in their basement, no less. They began playing sororities and fraternities of Ohio State University, and their exposure exploded.
Their album, Risen, debuted at number 11 on the Billboard top internet sales chart. By 2006, O.A.R. managed to sell 1.2 million albums over their career. The band contributes much of their success to the taping, trading and downloading of their live shows throughout their college careers.
