New York Mets Tickets: Do You Believe in Miracles?
The Mets were founded in 1962, as Major League Baseball began its expansion. The early seasons were tough, as the Mets would finish their first seven seasons without a winning record.
Then came the magic of 1969! With pitchers Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan, the Mets won 100 games to capture first place in the NL West. They would then defeat the Atlanta Braves to advance to the World Series for the first time in franchise history. One season after they came in ninth place, the Mets would eliminate the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series to win the championship for the first time!

Back for More!
In 1986, the Mets pulled off another miracle! With a lineup that featured Gary Carter, Keith Hernandez, Ray Knight, Lenny Dykstra, Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, and Ron Darling they won 108 games and advanced to the World Series facing the Red Sox.
Described as one of the most famous games in playoff baseball history, Boston had a one game series lead entering game six in New York. The game would go into extra innings, when the Red Sox would push across two runs in the top of the tenth, and when the first two batters were retired in the bottom of the tenth, the Sox were just one out away from ending The Curse!
Miraculously, even as the Mets were down to their last strike, they would rally to tie the game. Then, an infamous little ground ball would elude first baseman Bill Buckner, and the Mets would pull off the amazing comeback win to tie the series at six games. The Mets would beat the Red Sox the next night in game seven to capture their second World Series!

Building on Tradition
This season, the Mets will look to third baseman David Wright to continue his power surge, as he finished last season with 29 HRs and 103 RBIs. Adding support and trying to rebound from last season will be outfielders Carlos Beltran and Jason Bay, who have put up big numbers in the past. The ace of the rotation, and arguably of the league as long as he's healthy, is the solid fireballer Johan Santana!
