Minnesota Twins Tickets: A Storied History
The Twins franchise began back in the early 1900s as the Washington Senators, considered one of baseball's original eight teams. In 1961, they moved to Minnesota and became the Twins, the team name referencing the two cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul where the team was located.
In 1965, just four years into their new surroundings, with players such as Harmon Killebrew and Tony Oliva, the Twins would win 102 games to capture the American League Pennant. Future Hall of Famer Rod Carew would become Rookie of the Year with the Twins in 1967 and help them to win the newly formed American League West crown in 1969 and 1970!

Twin World Championships
After their first place finish of 1970, the Twins would play 16 straight seasons without reaching the playoffs. In 1987, they would muster up 85 wins to capture the American League west title and would face the Detroit Tigers for the Pennant.
With a line up boasting such players as Kent Hrbek, Frank Viola, Bert Blylevin, and Kirby Puckett, the Twins would beat the Tigers in five games to advance to the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. With the series tied at 3 games apiece and game seven in Minnesota, the Twins would hang on for a 4 to 2 victory and win their first ever World Series!
They would again reach the Fall Classic in 1991, this time facing a seventh game at home against the Atlanta Braves. In one of the most thrilling World Series games ever, the Twins would prevail 1-0 in the bottom of the tenth to capture their second World Championship!

This Season's North Stars
Twins catcher Joe Mauer enters his 7th full season with a career .327 batting average, and there's no slowing down for this great leader. Justin Morneau and Delmon Young are coming off great seasons and should add huge support for Mauer.
The Twins have one of the best in the biz, as Carl Pavano remains their ace on the mound. In addition to Pavano, Francisco Liriano is coming off a 200 plus strikeout season and should continue to roll.
