The History of Keith Sweat Tickets
From his days working at the New York Stock Exchange to his success in the music business, Keith Sweat has made a number of achievements throughout his career.
Born in Harlem, New York, in 1961, Keith Sweat earned a communications degree from the City College of New York. During his college years, Keith Sweat worked as a stock boy at a department store and sang with his band, Jamilah, on the weekends.
Following his graduation, Sweat began working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and worked his way up to a brokerage assistant in just four short years. Although he experienced a large degree of success in this business, Sweat still desired to become a musician. In fact, he spent much of his income recording demos for songs.
Although Sweat did not experience any success for his songwriting skills during this time, he decided to perform his own material. Finally, Vincent Davis, the owner of the record label, Vintertainment, signed a distribution deal with Elektra Records for Keith Sweat. He soon released his debut album, Make it Last Forever. It achieved a considerable amount of commercial success, and the album included the hit single, "I Want Her." When his album hit number one on the charts, Sweat left his job on Wall Street and soon began thinking about his second album.
The second album featured more traditional sounds with a rhythm and blues vibe and, like the first album, it received considerable commercial success, selling one million copies in less than two months. It featured the hit song, "Make you Sweat."
Keith kept the hit albums coming throughout the 1990s, and he also started his own record label, Keia Records and opened his own recording studio called the Sweat Shop. He spent the latter part of the 1990s releasing new work and grooming new musicians.
