Born in Scotland in 1974, but growing up primarily in Canada, Johnny Reid attended Bishop's University in Quebec. He released his debut album, Another Day, Another Dime in 1997, although no singles were ever released from that album. He then released his second album in 2000 and once again received minimal success, although three singles were released from this album. Some of the singles include "Given up on Me" and "Runnin' Wild."
His first single after the second album was not released until 2004, which was off his third album, Born to Roll. This single, "You still Own Me" hit the Canadian charts, and the album eventually reached number five on the Canadian Top Country Album charts. He went on to release two more singles from this album.
He released three more albums in 2007 and 2009, and in 2010 he released the album, A Place Called Love. He released two singles from this album.
