Interpol Tickets

Interpol boasts a post-punk revivalist sound that has captured the attention of fans all across the United States. From their beginnings in the indie scene to their major commercial successes, Interpol is a band that has managed to craft a unique, indie-rock sound that is all their own.

The History of Interpol Tickets

Interpol was formed in 1997 when Daniel Kessler and Greg Drudy met at NYU. They began shopping their indie-rock sound to record labels over the next few years. They released several albums that achieved critical success; but it wasn't until their first album with Matador Records in 2002, Turn on the Bright Lights, that Interpol really began to experience great commercial success.

Although the sound of Interpol wasn't very popular at that time (the charts were dominated by manufactured pop groups), people began to take notice because of their critical success. They released their second album, Antics, in 2004, to much commercial and critical success. The album, which went Gold, spawned a national tour, where the band began to play much larger venues. They toured for the next 18 months and were booked as the opening act for the Cure and U2.

After the completion of their tour, the band came back together and released their third album in 2005 entitled, Our Love to Admire. This release prompted another large tour, and they were booked as headliners for the 2007 Lollapalooza Musical Festival. Interpol recently released their fourth, self-titled album.

Interpol Tickets: What to Expect

Interpol is set to tour throughout the United States during the spring and summer of this year. In fact, they have 30 shows lined up throughout 2011. Interpol has been described as a band that grew notorious for "combining post-punk adventurism with new-wave hooks and style in the post-Millennial Indie rock world."

Often sounding like the Smiths, Chameleons UK, and Echo and the Bunnymen, Interpol is perhaps best known for their modern, melancholy tunes and their black, tailored suits.

Interpol Tickets: Who Should Attend?

Spendidzine.com best described Interpol when they said: "There's something quite compelling about Interpol's sound - the urgent, Spartan guitar lines, hazy feedback sheen and ominous, funereal bass lines suggest a world of grey, rainy autumn afternoons and bleak, snowy winter nights."

Interpol has made a name for itself for being sadly melodic and oddly transfixing. Their Indie-rock sound is a well-crafted effort and is what certainly sets them apart from other modern sounds of today.
