Colorado Rockies Tickets: Build It and They Will Come
The Rockies began playing in 1993 after several years of failed attempts to bring baseball to Colorado. As if there was any doubt of fan support, the Rockies played their first game at Mile High Stadium (Home of the NFL's Broncos) in front of an enthusiastic crowd of more than 80,000!
In their first season, the Colorado Rockies would win just 67 games, but that would set the record for most wins by a National League expansion team. The fans would also set a record for largest attendance for the season, as more than 4.4 million people came to watch the Rockies in their first year. They were led by The Big Cat Andres Galarraga, who won the batting crown with a .370 batting average!

A Rockie Finish
In just their third year, the Rockies would win 77 games with Don Baylor at the helm, as he was awarded Manager of the Year. Their record was enough to capture the newly offered wild card spot for the playoffs, giving the franchise's first trip to the post season!
Alas, the Rockies next taste of the post season would not come until 12 years later, when they finished the 2007 season with 90 wins, which was good for second place in their division and another wild card spot in the playoffs.
Riding a hot streak and led by players such as Troy Tulowitzki, Matt Holliday, and Todd Helton, the Rockies would beat the Phillies in the first round, sweeping them in three games. Then the Rockies would face the Diamondbacks in a best of seven series for the national league crown.
In just four games with their second consecutive sweep, the Rockies would win their first ever National League Pennant!

This Season: The Youth Movement
This season, the Rockies are led by outfielder Carlos Gonzales, who is coming off the best year of his young career, as he led the team in every offensive category last year. Troy Tulowitzki and newly acquired 2B Jose Lopez should provide strength up the middle. On the mound, the Rockies look to Ubaldo Jimenez and Jorge De La Rosa to anchor their rotation.
