Band of Horses was formed in 2004 by lead singer Ben Bridwell after the breakup of his previous band Carissa's Weird.  Ben has been likened to Neil Young in his falsetto delivery and song writing ability. 

The group was based in Seattle and played in around the local indie scene, while selling their CDs at the shows they played, as well as achieving air time on local indie radio shows.   Their first full length album was recorded in 2005 for release in March of 2006.  The album, "Everything All the Time," included the single "Funeral" which has been used on numerous television series, films, and advertisements, and the band also were invited to play it on The David Letterman Show. 

With the success of their first album and the exposure that "Funeral" provided, Band of Horses began touring extensively.  In 2007, they released their second album "Cease to Begin," which debuted at #25 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and was #47 on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 Albums of 2007.  It also became a minor hit in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, as well as Japan, opening the door for the group's international touring. 

By May of 2010, Band of Horses had released their third studio album "Infinite Arms," which would ultimately receive a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album.   It would peak at #7 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 and reach the top ten in Canada, Denmark, Greece, Norway, and Sweden.
