When LaVell Edwards became the head football coach of the BYU Cougars in 1972, the program had never made a single bowl game appearance. Over the next 29 seasons, he would turn BYU into an elite program. Edwards took the Cougars to 22 bowl games during his tenure. He also put together a run of 26 consecutive winning campaigns from 1974-99.
More recently, the Cougars were able to win ten or more games in four straight years (2006-09) under current head coach Bronco Mendenhall.

Championship Seasons
