Colorado Buffaloes Tickets

In 2011, a new era will begin for the Colorado Buffaloes, as the football and basketball teams start playing in the Pac-12 Conference. Regardless of the conference, however, Colorado Buffaloes tickets are always a winning entertainment option.

Colorado Buffaloes Tickets: Historical Overview

In football, the Colorado Buffaloes have appeared in 28 bowl games. The school's first bowl outing was in 1937 at the Cotton Bowl. For the most part, Colorado was overmatched in the Big 8 Conference (1960-95) against college football heavyweights Oklahoma and Nebraska.

The best era for the program was an eight-year stretch from 1989-96. In this period, the Buffaloes were one of the top squads in all of college football, with five finishes in the top 8.

On the basketball side, Colorado has made ten trips to the NCAA tournament. On two occasions (1942 and 1955), the Buffaloes reached the Final Four. Over the last four decades, the program has been limited to just a pair of March Madness appearances.

Championship Seasons

In the Big 8, the Buffaloes won five conference championships in football (1961, 76, 89-91). In 1989, Colorado went undefeated in the regular season, but lost to Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl as the top-ranked team in the nation. In the following year, the Buffaloes gained some revenge on the Fighting Irish with a 10-9 victory in the Orange Bowl to claim the school's only national championship.

Head coach Bill McCartney (1982-94) had completed a remarkable turnaround at Colorado after winning a total of just seven games in his first three seasons.

In hoops, the Buffaloes have won five Big 8 regular season titles. Three of the championships came in the sixties under head coach Sox Walseth.

Colorado Buffaloes Tickets at Home Facilities

In basketball, the Buffaloes play at the Coors Event Center (capacity of 11,064). The arena opened prior to the 1979-80 season.

Colorado Buffaloes Tickets: 2011-12 Season

Under new head coach Jon Embree, the Colorado Buffaloes will be seeking to make some noise as a new member of the Pac-12 in 2011. Conference showdowns against Oregon and USC will highlight this season's home slate. Colorado Buffaloes tickets will also be available for home games against California, Washington State and Arizona.

In hoops, Colorado will try to build on last year's 24-win campaign in 2011-12. The home schedule will feature several non-conference matchups and a number of Pac-12 contests.
