In football, Louisville has been a division-one program since 1962. While being overshadowed by the success of the basketball program, the football Cardinals have managed to appear in 14 bowl games over the years. From 1998-2006, Louisville put together a run of nine consecutive postseason bids.

Championship Seasons

The Louisville Cardinals have won two NCAA championships in basketball. In 1979-80, Louisville defeated the UCLA Bruins to claim its first title. Six years later, Crum led the Cardinals to another championship contest. Against the Duke Blue Devils, Louisville came out on top again to capture another NCAA title.
