Alter Bridge Tickets

Often referred to as a post-grunge, alternative metal band, Alter Bridge has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. Consisting of members of the former bands Creed and Mayfield Four, Alter Bridge has managed to achieve both commercial and critical success since its inception in 2004.

The History of Alter Bridge Tickets

Alter Bridge consists of Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall, who were all former Creed members, along with Myles Kennedy, a former Mayfield Four singer and songwriter.

Alter Bridge, which was formed in 2004, is named after a bridge on Alter Road in Mark Tremonti's childhood town. He was not allowed to cross the bridge because it was the border between his neighborhood and a more dangerous neighborhood in Detroit. Because the bridge represented the unknown to Tremonti, they named the band Alter Bridge because they felt their music, according to Tremonti, was "driven by melody and experimentation."

Alter Bridge signed a contract with Wind-Up Records in 2004 and soon released their first album entitled One Day Remains. The album did well, both in the United States and Europe, and they released a few hit singles from it.

Alter Bridge then went on the road and spent the next few years touring, and in 2006, they left Wind-Up Records (because Wind-Up Records was more interested in a Creed reunion instead of a new Alter Bridge album) and went to Universal Republic once their contract was up. It is there that they released their second album, Blackbird, which included their first single to hit the pop charts, "Before Tomorrow Comes."

Alter Bridge Tickets: What to Expect

Alter Bridge, during the first few years, was often criticized for sounding too much like Creed, but since then, they have developed their own unique sound and have earned a reputation for gaining a considerable amount of critical success. Although they haven't gained a tremendous amount of mainstream success, Alter Bridge was named the 36th greatest band of all time in 2009 by Ultimate Guitar Archive.
